Description
Our Constitution encourages a free exchange of ideas and robust debate but one hundred years ago the Supreme Court began to place restrictions/parameters. Lecture/Discussion will address internal security(clear and present danger); symbolic speech (are we allowed to burn the flag?); indecency and obscenity; fighting words and hate speech; speech NOT protected by the First Amendment; and the right to silence.
