Texans have long been at the forefront of public discourse and our nation’s great debates over government, policies, social reforms and the country’s future direction. This course will examine some of the best persuasive political rhetoric penned by our elected officials, business leaders and influential citizens who have sought to make an imprint on our state and the nation, examining oratory from Barbara Jordan, LBJ, George W. Bush, Ross Perot and others.
