Description
Bandera, the “Cowboy Capital of the World,” is a town full of history. Our first stop of the day will be the Bandera Natural History Museum. Over 100 animals are shown in several large dioramas depicting the habitats in which they live. Artwork from around the world, as well as life-size dinosaur replicas, make this eight-acre destination fun and educational. Our next stop will be for lunch at Brick’s River Cafe. After lunch we will visit the Frontier Times Museum which has been preserving frontier history for over 85 years. Explore the antique cases that contain over 11,000 treasures from pioneer relics to nature’s oddities such as a two-faced goat and a shrunken head. The Texas Heroes Hall of Honor pays tribute to some of Texas’ greatest cowboys, cowgirls and rodeo champions. The art gallery showcases the cowboy artists of the Western Artists Roundup with artwork reflecting our western heritage. The walls of the building contain a collection of fossils, petrified wood and arrowheads. Cost includes motor coach transportation, lunch, admission fees and tips.
