Description
Lecture/discussion will trace our beginnings in Egypt and the Nile; the Hebrew tribes; Agamemnon, the Greek Polis (Sparta and Athens); Greek religion and philosophy (Socrates/Plate/Aristotle); the failure of the Polis giving way to the ascent of Alexander and the Hellenistic world till the rise of Rome.
