Description

Water is the resource that we must have, and South Texas has always had to deal with inconsistent rainfall, going from floods to droughts in what can seem like just a matter of weeks. With some of the fastest growth in the country, however, the San Antonio region is now faced with even more significant challenges to providing water for a rapidly growing population. These challenges are especially difficult given anticipated changes in climate conditions. In this class, we will focus on the history of water in San Antonio, including how much we use, how we currently get our water, challenges that we are currently facing, and anticipated changes in the water system that will be necessary to meet our needs over the coming decades.
