Description

Our first stop of the day will be the Vietnam Army Grunt Museum.  Through his work with America’s Veterans Foundation, Michael Lynd Sr. had a vision to honor those brave Army soldiers (the Grunts) who fought on the front line of the Vietnam War, by founding the museum which opened to the public in October 2019. Lynd himself served as an Infantry Officer in Vietnam during 1968 and 1969 and participated in Operation Fayette Canyon in Quang Nam Province.  The museum, located inside the Lynd Company’s new headquarters in San Antonio, features documentaries, books, letters, news articles and other artifacts from the era. After the tour of the museum, we will eat lunch upstairs at the Lynd Company. Next we will proceed to the Holocaust Memorial Museum housed at the Jewish Community Center. The main exhibit relates to the twelve-year history of the Nazi era with photographs, artifacts, films and maps. The museum’s mission is to make people aware of the dangers which prejudice, hatred and violence brought about during the Holocaust. We will stop on the way home at the Baklovah Bakery for dessert. Cost includes motor coach transportation, lunch and tips.
