Description
History comes alive at the official Cotton Gin Museum of Texas, home of the oldest operating cotton gin in America. The Burton Farmer’s Gin is powered by a 1925 Bessemer engine-the largest still operating in the USA! The museum is recognized by the Smithsonian Institution, National Trust for Historic Preservation and the National Register of Historic Places. During the tour we will see a video and take a guided tour through the historic 1914 Burton Farmers Gin. Our next stop will be for lunch at Los Patrones Mexican Grill in Burton. After lunch, we will travel to Brenham and visit the Blue Bell Creameries. During our visit, we will learn more about Blue Bell in the Visitors Center, shop in the country store, and get a scoop of ice cream at the Ice Cream Parlor. Cost includes motor coach transportation, lunch, admission fees and tips.
