The Politics of Shakespeare: History Behind the Drama. Shakespeare knew a lot about history and had a deep understanding of human psychology. We will see how he used this in “Macbeth” to make the story irresistibly interesting to King James I of England. We will also see some applications of Shakespeare’s knowledge of history in some of his other plays.
