We have all grown up watching movies and television shows representing the stories and characters found in the Bible or watching movies and shows having biblical themes. For over 120 years we’ve watched the Bible and Bible topics portrayed on big and small screens; some good, some bad, some entertaining, some total trash. What is truth or positive influence? What is considered misrepresentation or alternate interpretation? Some films and television have even been theologically controversial. What is strictly storytelling usurping the plots and people? Are there purposeful agendas? What has this visual Babylon done to mold our visions of the Bible? This presentation will look at what’s out there and what type of messages these films and broadcasts are projecting. Think about the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) is SATAN spelled backwards. Coincidence?
