It can be done with a lot of water, making thin washes for under-painting, then thicker successive washes to build up the image. Or it can be done opaquely. Mistakes can be easily and quickly over painted. As a media, it has its own special characteristics and “tricks” to learn one of which is to how to handle such quick drying paint!
