Description
Because of advances in computing, technology, and environmental concerns, human society is in the middle of what may be one of the most significant energy transitions of recent times, as we transition from fossil fuel to more renewable electrical energy. These changes will likely have a dramatic effect on our day-to-day lives, and because they are happening so quickly, governmental oversight is often struggling to keep up. Nuclear power generation has been around for more than 60 years, and it is often pointed to as the most likely bridge to a more sustainable energy model. In this presentation, we will the history of commercial nuclear power generation, and discuss some of the major changes associated with the next generation of nuclear power plants.
