Description
In this class we will discuss how geology suggests that Earth is about halfway through its ‘life cycle’, and speaks to what will likely happen over the next 5 billion years. It includes both the short-term effects (the next 100 years) of climate change, and describes what is likely to happen at different key points out to the expansion of the Sun at about 5 billion years that will result in the destruction of Earth. At the same time it is both fascinating, and deeply sobering.
