Description

Our first stop of the day will be the Duchman Winery for a picnic lunch and wine tasting. Duchman Winery is a slice of Tuscan heaven in the Texas Hill Country. The winery was founded in 2004 by Drs. Lisa and Stan Duchman in a quest to bring world-class wine making to Central Texas and the Texas Hill Country. The winery remains one of the top wine destinations in Texas and was listed by HGTV as one of the 20 most picturesque wineries in the country. The next stop will be the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, which was founded by Lady Bird Johnson and her friend Helen Hayes in 1982. This special place exists to introduce people to the beauty and diversity of wildflowers and other native plants. In 2006, the center became an Organized Research Unit of the University of Texas at Austin. Cost includes motor coach transportation, picnic lunch, a wine tasting and a tour of the winery, admissions and tips.
