Upon arrival in Rome we will meet our tour manager and board our motor coach to our hotel for a two night stay in Rome. Tonight we will enjoy a Welcome Dinner with our fellow travelers. Next morning we will do a Rome city tour and see the Colosseum, The Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, Piazza Venezia, and the Pantheon. Later in the day we will visit St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City and then the evening will be at your leisure. Next day we will travel north into the Umbrian countryside to the beautiful hilltop town of Assisi. During Assisi walking tour we will visit both the upper and lower parts of the great Basilica of St. Francis. Everything here is associated with St. Francis, who was born here in 1182. We will later arrive at our hotel in the Tuscan resort and spa town of Montecatini Terme for a four night stay. Next day we will travel through the lush countryside to Pisa & Lucca. On our walking tour we will see the remarkable Leaning Tower of Pisa. In Lucca we will enjoy an organic cooking & pasta making class and at the end of the class we will enjoy what we cooked for lunch. The following day we will enjoy a Florence city tour and visit the Academy Gallery to Michelangelo’s original Statue of David, view the Cathedral to see Giotto’s Bell Tower, and also see the open air museum of Piazza Della Signoria and Santa Croce which houses the tombs of Michelangelo and Galileo. The following day we will travel to Sienna and enjoy a walking tour of the medieval streets to the dramatic Campo, scene of the annual Palio house race and also see the town’s famous black and white striped cathedral. Next we will travel to the famous hilltop town of San Gimignano that is one of the most picturesque towns of Italy that was built in the 12th century. In the evening we will visit a local Tuscan Farmhouse and enjoy dinner. Next morning we will depart from Sienna and stop in Verona, site of Romeo & Juliet’s fateful story and also see a Roman amphitheatre, built in 30 AD and still in use and serves as a venue for large-scale opera performances. Later, arrive in Venice Mestre for a two night stay. Next day we will boat to Venice Island and meet our local tour guide and do a walking tour in Venice and see St. Mark’s Square, Bridge of Sighs, and the incredible Doges Palace. Next, enjoy an iconic Gondola Ride through the picturesque canals, and then enjoy our farewell dinner. Tour includes round-trip home pick-up, round-trip airfare, luggage handing, travel insurance, and gratuities for tour manager, drivers and tour guides. Deposit: $600 per person.
