Description
Upon arrival in Bastrop we will meet our step-on tour guide and take a tour of the city, learning about the history of Bastrop’s early families and buildings listed in the National Register of Historic Places that have earned Bastrop the title “Most Historic Small Town in Texas.” Our next stop will be the Lost Pines Art Center, located in the former historic 100 year old Powell Cotton Seed Mill. It is the largest comprehensive art center in Texas. Next we will have lunch at 602 Brewing Company. After lunch we will make our last stop of the day at the Bastrop Opera House. Built in 1889, it served as the center for entertainment through World War II, and was restored in the late 1970’s. Since 1984 it has consistently offered award winning performances. Cost includes motor coach transportation, lunch, admission fees, and tips.
