Description

A tiny treasure nestled in the setting of the wonderful Texas Hill Country; Boerne combines the very best of yesterday and today.  German immigrants first settled this land near the cool waters of the Cibolo Creek over 150 years ago.  Our first stop of the day will be to tour the Kendall County Historic Jail Museum and the Kendall County Courthouse.  The jail was constructed in 1887 and served for a century as the county jail and has been restored and is now a museum and has historic exhibits and artifacts.  The courthouse has both a historic and a modern building.  The historic courthouse was built in 1870 and the modern courthouse was completed in 1998.  Our next stop will be for lunch at Popo’s Family Restaurant.  As you enter the restaurant be prepared to see about 2,200 plates that adorn the walls.  After lunch we will drive to Sister Creek Vineyards for a wine tasting.  This winery is housed in a historic 1885 cotton gin.  You will see artifacts of the gin as well as the vineyard and winery.  You will have an opportunity to taste the large variety of wines.  Cost includes motor coach transportation, lunch, gratuities and wine tasting session.
